Glossop SNT - Community Speed Watch Event
Two of our volunteers from the Hadfield Community Speed Watch Team completed an event on Padfield Main Rd, Hadfield today, Monday 27th July. It was held there between 2. 50 pm and 3.50 pm. The speed limit on this road is 40 mph.
On this occasion a total 232 vehicles went by the team during the times the event took place and on this occasion we are happy to that no vehicles were recorded speeding above the limit.
Speeding is one of the local communities Policing Priorites for this area. Padfield Main Rd has been identified by local residents and councillors (by using our Community Voice Surveys online and when at our local engagement events) as an issue because of the speeding there. Currently there is no footpath at this location - which is used to access both Padfield and Hadfield by pedestrians.
We welcome members of our communitues to fill in our Community Voice Surveys - so we can find what issues are affecting the community and help identify more ways to support you - You can fill it out online here, www.derbyshirealert.co.uk
Thank you to the community from the Padfield/Hadfield area for their help in identifying their concerns regarding speeding, particularly at this location - and as always for their continued support in promoting road safety in Hadfield.
And lastly our thanks and appreciation go to our 2 volunteers who gave up their free time today in an effort to make our roads safer to use for all and including their dedication and enthusuasm in aiming to help reduce speeding in their communitiy
